We’ve updated the loan product configuration, moving the Borrower Type settings and Access Permissions into separate sections within the loan product. Additionally, we’ve improved the process of creating variables by adding a new field, "Variable Purpose," which allows you to specify the purpose of the variable.

Loan Product Improvements
Previously, users had to select the borrower type, enable co-borrowers and intermediaries, and set access permissions during loan product creation and within the basic loan product information. We received feedback that this was hard to find, particularly after initial setup.
To improve the user experience when configuring loan products, the borrower type settings and access permissions have been moved from the basic loan product information to the general loan product configuration section.
New sections have been added: "Applicant Types" and "Access Permissions," which reflect the configurations that have been moved.
In the "Applicant Types" section of the loan product, you can select the type of borrower supported by the product. If your loan product supports co-borrowers, you can enable them, choose the supported co-borrower types, and specify whether each co-borrower is required or optional. Finally, you can enable the use of an intermediary in the application and set whether it is required or optional.

In the "Access Permissions" section of the loan product you can manage access to the loan product and related items (e.g., applications, tasks, decisions, etc.) in the Lending System. You can also configure access to the loan product on the standard digital lending portals from this section.

Variable Purpose
Previously, to add a variable to a borrower or intermediary profile, users had to manually include a "Borrower" or "Intermediary" prefix in the variable name, which was not intuitive.
To make this process clearer, we’ve introduced a "Variable Purpose" dropdown in the variable creation configuration. You can now select one of three options: Application Data, Borrower Profile, or Intermediary Profile.
Based on your selection, the appropriate prefix will be automatically added to the variable name for profile-related options. If you choose Application Data, no prefix will be applied.
